For all that I love Creatures Wiki, it never got to the point where I did not actually have the time to check every new edit. I passed that point about a week ago on WikiFur. I'm glad we've managed to find a few good administrators, because there's no way I could have handled all the edits we've had on my own!
This is still just the start, though. There are many, many more topics that could and should be covered, and almost all of the ones we have could do with improvement and increased depth. To get there, we need to get more people involved. My dream would be for everyone in the furry community to be helping out, or at least those who're be interested in doing so. To do that, of course, they need to know about it!
Together, we've started something great. Now, please get out there and tell your friends they should be contributing to WikiFur, too! I'm sure you can think of a few good places - forums, IRC, mailing lists or communities you frequent, perhaps, or even just your LiveJournal - if you're like me, some of those who watch you might be more than interested. If you need a few explanatory links, check out the last few posts on
If you've got a website, now would also be a great time to link to us - either to the main page, or to articles related to yourself, or the things you are interested in. You could even link to your contributions page if you wanted to show people what you've been working on - just go to your user page and click the link in the toolbox on the left. Each link helps improve WikiFur's search engine ranking, and so increases the chance that people will be able to find us without a personal reference. If you want a button, try one of these, or make your own from the originals, or even your own design.
There's no need for a hard sell - just letting people know how exciting WikiFur is, giving a few examples, and telling them how they can help should be enough. If you've got any more ideas about how to promote WikiFur, let us know below!
